About

Mudd House Mercantile started back in 2018 by us, the Mudd sisters. We noticed how much plastic we were throwing out, so we began researching alternatives to products we were using. The product search then turned into “we should have an online store and do pop-up markets.” In 2021 we got a great opportunity to open a brick-n-mortar store in Uptown Denver. We work everyday to better ourselves and inspire the Denver and Colorado community to live more sustainably. Our online store is one more branch to get people all over the U.S. to live as much as possible plastic free. We don’t need to be perfect, but if we all chip in, that makes a big difference! Please visit us at our store in Denver or enjoy shopping our many products online.

Katie has lived her whole life on the front range of Colorado and loves living in her tiny, old home with her boyfriend and two dogs. She has many passions, which mostly involve animals and doing homesteading activities. She is a huge dog lover and has a soft spot for shelter and rescue dogs. If there is a dog that needs help, she will be there. If there is a dog in the room, she will be petting him/her. She is crazy about dogs.

The home she shares with her boyfriend and dogs is a 600 sq ft home built in the late 40’s. Katie loves to help with fixit projects, gardening and make the living areas inside and out more sustainable.

Lastly, she is passionate about sustainability in her community (local and world). Sometimes it feels overwhelming, but she believes Mudd House Mercantile will make a difference. There are so many ideas and Mudd House Mercantile is just the start!
